機能性色素分子ポルフィリンの構成部位であるピロール環を、非環状構造へ導入することによって、そのN部位の「二面性」(水素結合受容性・金属配位部 位Nおよび水素結合供与性部位NH)や集積可能なπ平面などの特徴を発揮する ことが可能になる。しかし、ピロール環の超分子集合体の構成要素としての機能性は未解明であり、これまで十分に研究されていない背景をふまえ、A04班 前田大光(立命館大学理工学部准教授)は新規骨格を有する「空間制御」可能な非環状型オリゴピロールの物性発現、とくに外部刺激応答性組織構造形成に焦点を当てて研究を進めている。最近の研究成果をまとめたMicroreviewがWileyのEur. J. Org. Chem. 2007年 32号に掲載され、その表紙に選ばれました。
